Cheese & Wine tasting at home via Zoom
OK – we’re all stuck in lockdown – again. But why not come to our own special “Zoom” Cheese & Wine tasting in the comfort of your own home?
We are holding this event in conjunction with the London Branch of the International Wine & Food Society.
We have been in discussions with Greg Parsons, the owner of Sharpham’s Dairy, one of the finest cheese makers in Devon. Greg has selected five artisan cheeses for this tasting. Each cheese is made with milk from cows and goats that have grazed Devon’s luscious pastures, crafted with over 100 years of skills and nurtured with love.
The cheese board includes the Devon classics; Sharpham Brie, Quickes Mature Cheddar and Devon Blue, plus a ‘Grader’s Choice’ from both Sharpham and Quickes. You will receive five pieces (circa 1.2kg combined) of artisan cheese individually wrapped along with tasting notes for each.
Greg has also selected some special British wine from their own vineyards to go with the cheese. Included in the price is a bottle of Sharpham’s Pinot Noir Red & Dart Valley Reserve White (his favourites for pairing). He has also included a bottle of Island Street Porter and Ocean Cider from their neighbours at Salcombe Brewery – as well as crackers from their local friends at Peters Yard. Everything you need for this one-off unique tasting for our members.
All these will be delivered directly to your home prior to the tasting.
And that’s not all. Greg will host this “Zoom tasting” personally and for a bit of fun will kick off with a cheese general knowledge quiz as a warmup, then run through the tasting and then close with a short quiz about what we have tasted (and he has even kindly agreed to offer a small prize for the winners).
The pack contains more than enough for two – so it works out at less than £38 pp. A very special price Sharpham’s have provided, just for the IWFS and us.
Please note the cut off date for booking is 24th November as Sharpham need time to post the tasting package to your home address.
